        Frankie Luvu Suspended Over Illegal Tackles

        Frankie Luvu Suspended Over Illegal Tackles

        The NFL has suspended Washington LB Frankie Luvu for his third violation of the rule against hip-drop tackles within the past calendar year. According to Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice, none of the instances drew a penalty within the game, but the NFL fined him all three times. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Luvu plans to appeal it. We should get a decision on that before the weekend. Make sure you plan as though you won't have Luvu available for your IDP lineup.

        Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Cardinals. The rookie seemed to be building a little momentum as Dallas' No 2 RB, but the team will instead roll with RBs Hunter Luepke and Malik Davis behind lead back Javonte Williams in this one.

        Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (foot) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Cowboys. QB Jacoby Brissett makes his third straight start. He played reasonably well in his first two and gets a cushy matchup in this one against a defense supplying a 47.6% boost to QB fantasy production.

        Commanders CB Marshon Lattimore tore his left ACL in Sunday night's loss to the Seahawks and will miss the rest of the season.

        Niners Edge Mykel Williams tore the ACL in his right knee in Sunday's win over the Giants. HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that there's some damage to the lateral meniscus in the knee as well but that Williams suffered no further ligament damage.

        Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Monday that WR Matthew Golden's shoulder injury is not serious, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The rookie is considered "day to day," LaFleur added. Golden gets an extra day to heal up ahead of next Monday night's game vs. the Eagles. We'll track his status throughout the week.

        Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) is eligible to come off IR this week, but HC John Harbaugh said Monday that he doesn't expect the rookie back until after the Week 12 bye. It's not a major surprise considering Hampton was still in a walking boot about a week-and-a-half ago. He's worth keeping stashed in all fantasy leagues, but Hampton owners should be prepared to be without him for another three weeks. RB Kimani Vidal again operated as Los Angeles' lead back in the Week 9 win over the Titans but busted with just 30 yards on 12 carries. RB Jaret Patterson notably out-snapped Vidal 11 to six in the fourth quarter, finishing with nine carries for 44 yards. Vidal remains the best fantasy bet in this backfield for Week 10, but the situation is a bit more volatile now than it was a couple of days ago.

        Bears Edge Dayo Odeyingbo will miss the rest of the season after tearing his right Achilles' tendon in Sunday's win over the Bengals. It's the second career tear for Odeyingbo, who suffered the same injury while training for the Senior Bowl back in 2021. I don't know whether that injury occurred to the same leg, though, because most reporters don't seem to realize that nearly all players actually have two legs.

        The Cardinals have activated first-round DT Walter Nolen from the PUP list. That should mean Nolen's ready for his first NFL action in tonight's game against the Cowboys. Of course, it's impossible to know how much he'll be ready to play after missing nearly all of training camp and the season's first eight games with a calf injury. But a full-strength Nolen could help the Arizona defense and provide an IDP option for DT-required leagues eventually. Arizona also activated CB Garrett Williams from IR. The starter has been out since Week 2 with a knee injury. He's not a high-impact player in real or fantasy terms but could help the defense in general.

        If you watch the Rams regularly, then you might have noticed tight ends occupying more screen time in recent weeks. The team has increased its usage of "13" personnel (three TEs) and significantly increased the number of targets heading toward TEs in recent games. Four Rams tight ends caught at least two passes in Sunday's win over the Saints. Rookie Terrance Ferguson led the group (and ranked third on the team) with 54 receiving yards. Tyler Higbee snagged one of Matthew Stafford's 4 TD passes, Higbee's second scoring catch in three games.
