        "Optimism" Jaylen Waddle Plays Week 3

        "Optimism" Jaylen Waddle Plays Week 3

        There's "optimism" that Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) will be able to play vs. the Bills on Thursday night, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Waddle is listed as questionable after being limited in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday. "Waddle will test his shoulder pregame" before a final decision is made, Rapoport adds. "They hope he is able to go, but no guarantees early on." We'll get Miami's inactives around 7 pm ET tonight. Waddle will carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups if he does suit up. See where he lands in the Week 3 WR rankings.

        The Bills won't have LB Matt Milano (pectoral) or DT Ed Oliver (ankle) for Thursday night's game against the Dolphins. Both have been ruled out. CB Taron Johnson (quad) is questionable after limited practices all week. Johnson sounds like he'll be ready to play.

        Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He also got in limited practices last Thursday and Friday, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier this week that Worthy is on track to return for Sunday night's game vs. the Giants. We'll keep you updated on his progress leading up to that one. We're ranking Worthy conservatively for Week 3 for now. WR Jalen Royals (knee) was also limited on Wednesday and has a chance to make his NFL debut this weekend.

        49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe, left shoulder) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward that Purdy "has a chance" to play vs. the Cardinals this weekend. We'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days. Purdy would be a shaky Week 3 fantasy bet unless he gets in a full practice on Thursday or Friday. QB Mac Jones was serviceable in relief last week, completing 67% of his passes at 7.2 yards per attempt with 3 TDs and 0 INTs.

        49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. He played through the shoulder issue in Week 2, but the ankle is new. HC Kyle Shanahan called Jennings "day to day" earlier this week, so it doesn't sound like a serious injury. But Jennings' status for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals is uncertain. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

        Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. It's the first we've heard of the foot issue. We'll see if Charbonnet is able to get back on the field tomorrow. His absence vs. the Saints this weekend would turn Ken Walker into a RB1.

        Broncos TE Evan Engram (back) did not practice on Wednesday. It's a new issue for Engram, who suffered a calf injury in the opener. It's been a brutal start to the season for the 31-year-old. He should not be in Week 3 fantasy lineups.

        Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (biceps) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details on the situation. The Chargers played the late game on Monday night, so this could just be an early-week rest day for McConkey. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

        Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He played a full slate of snaps in Monday night's loss to the Chargers but was clearly not at 100%. It's encouraging that he was able to get back on the field for Wednesday's practice. Bowers should be healthier for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders and remains a must-start in season-long fantasy leagues.

        Colts TE Tyler Warren (toe) did not practice on Wednesday. He seemed to make it out of the Week 2 win over the Broncos ok, but his status will now need to be closely monitored over the next few days. We'll have another update on Warren on Thursday afternoon.
